At Maknoon, we understand that modern battles are no longer confined to clearing a single room or building. Fighting has moved to the streets, alleys, and vital infrastructure of cities.
That’s why we developed the next generation of training environments: Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT).
These are not just battlefields; they are miniature, integrated theaters of operations—living “tactical villages”—designed and engineered to be a true laboratory for testing unit endurance and decision-making amidst the chaos of urban combat.

Design Philosophy: Building a 360° Comprehensive Threat Environment
The scientific objective behind our designs is to expose the combatant to maximum cognitive and physical load in a safe and organized environment, to “inoculate” them against the stress and fog of real warfare.
We don’t just build structures; we build a complete combat ecosystem:
A Diverse and Realistic Urban Fabric
Our “Tactical Village” features a collection of buildings that simulate vital infrastructure (school, hotel, airport, hospital, government building), each designed with its own unique engineering challenges (long corridors, multiple rooms, open courtyards) to test various scenarios, from rescuing hostages in a hotel to securing an airport.
A 3D Threat Matrix
Urban warfare isn’t just about the front lines. Therefore, we’ve distributed threats throughout:
- Ground Targets: Attackers and hostages in the form of interactive mannequins and dummy elements within buildings and on the streets.
- Vertical Threats: Sniper and attacker targets on balconies and rooftops, forcing troops to pay attention to the vertical dimension of the battle.
- Mobile Threats: Attackers in moving vehicles traversing the village streets, simulating mobile ambushes and car bombs.
Innovative Training Scenarios: The Exclusive “Maknoon” Mark
What distinguishes our training ranges is transcending the boundaries of traditional training and offering unique scenarios, the product of our own research and innovations to meet the needs of elite units:
Engagement from Unstable Platforms
To simulate airborne operations or engagements from challenging positions, the fighter can ride a moving cable car and fire at ground targets, or hang from ropes stretched between artificial hills and target threats from a suspended position. This tests their stability and shooting accuracy in the most demanding conditions.
Operations in Harsh Environments
The range includes areas specifically designed to simulate harsh conditions, where troops can descend into mud-filled trenches and fire live ammunition, testing weapons effectiveness and the fighter’s ability to perform under physical exhaustion.
Maritime Special Operations Simulation
In a first-of-its-kind innovation, we have incorporated a specialized aquatic training facility. The combatant can descend fully equipped underwater into a glass training tank and engage submerged targets using specialized weapons. This scenario is specifically designed to train frogman and naval special forces units in clearing water obstacles and conducting underwater combat.
User Forces:
These comprehensive training areas are not designed for basic training but rather to hone the skills of the most advanced and specialized units:
- National Special Operations Forces
- Elite Counterterrorism Units
- Military Forces specializing in urban warfare
- Frogman and Naval Special Forces
